With the new year upon us, we’re finally setting our sights on one of our favorite times of year in Orlando: spring break! Spring is a magical time in Orlando, and it’s not just the theme parks that see their share of fun and excitement. From immersive, theatrical experiences for the whole family to art festivals and even a fiesta in the park, Orlando has plenty to do to make your spring break memorable, with some events already underway.
Dragons & Fairies is an immersive, theatrical adventure that unfolds at the magical Harry P. Leu Gardens in Orlando’s Audubon Park Garden District. Dragons & Fairies will be running Wednesday – Sunday from January 28th – March 6th. Presented by one of Orlando’s pre-eminent art collectives, this moving interactive fantasy takes audiences on a nearly mile-long journey filled with large-scale lighting installations, live actors and lots of surprises — including nine animatronic dragons!
The 33rd Annual Fiesta in the Park returns this year for visitors and locals alike to bask in the beauty of springtime at Lake Eola. Some of the most talented artists and crafters from central Florida and beyond will be bringing their own works, and a variety of food vendors will be there presenting their unique takes on flavor as well. Don’t forget the live entertainment for the whole family, a staple of Fiesta in the Park!
For even more art and outdoor fun, pay a visit to the 63rd Annual Winter Park Sidewalk Art Festival. One of the oldest, largest and most prestigious outdoor art festivals in the country. The juried show features hundreds of national artists displaying paintings, sculpture, and more. Be sure to check out the traditional Saturday night concert kicking off the festival the prior weekend as well!
Of course, it wouldn’t be spring break without a trip to Orlando’s wonderful theme parks, and there are plenty of special Spring events to make your magical trip even more spectacular!
EPCOT will be ringing in the season of blooms with the International Flower & Garden Festival from March 2nd – July 4th, and it promises to be every bit as beautiful as years past. With topiaries, living sculptures of your favorite Disney characters, opulent flower towers and more, EPCOT transforms for the season. Offering not only wonderful sights and scents of exotic flowers, this festival also gives guests the opportunity to indulge in fresh cuisine and vibrant entertainment.
Universal Orlando is getting in on the fun as well, with their annual Mardi Gras celebration. On select dates from February through April, enjoy parades, live music from superstars like Khalid and Jason DeRulo, and more. And every day, enjoy delicious New Orleans cuisine as well as seasonal dishes from around the world.
These are just a few of the ways Orlando is ringing in one of the most beautiful seasons in Orlando, and we can’t wait! Be sure to let us know what you’re looking forward to this Spring, and check back for more great events.
